What’s Happening: Trump’s chaotic 100 days
Trump’s America: A Nation for the Rich
From the callous firing of tens of thousands of federal employees, attacks on basic needs programs like Medicaid, SNAP (food stamps), and childcare, the heart-wrenching separation of immigrant families to the ongoing rise in grocery prices, all highlight a disturbing truth: Trump and the GOP want to create a nation that is poorer, unhealthier, and perpetually living in fear.
But we remain steadfast in our commitment to building collective power and fighting for our rights. That's why we launched a campaign to protect Medicaid and other basic needs programs that are helping millions across the country access health care and put food on the table.

Amplifying the voices of the people: Since January, we have collected over 1,160 stories from people who depend on or have firsthand knowledge of the impact that safety net programs have on the daily lives of people who are living paycheck to paycheck. Take a look at our story bank to learn more about who would be affected by Trump's cruel agenda to strip away essential support from vulnerable people to help give more to the wealthy.
-
Taking the fight to Congress: On April 8, we took our fight to Washington, D.C., to make our voices heard against harmful cuts to essential programs that millions of people depend on for health care and food assistance, especially as we face the looming threat of recession. Even though Republican members of the House of Representatives passed the budget resolution, which will facilitate cuts to essential programs to fund mass deportations and provide tax breaks to the wealthiest, we will not back down. We will continue to demand real leadership from our representatives and senators, and we encourage you to join us in demanding that they do their jobs and truly stand up for the people they were elected to serve
-
Uniting to defend our immigrant communities: Over the past months, we have witnessed an array of unprecedented attacks against our immigrant communities with an increased ICE presence in previously protected areas and the violation of due process and human rights. We will continue to stand up and amplify the voices of those that have been targeted and had their rights railroad by this administration–people like Kilmar, a father, husband and union worker who was wrongly deported; Jeanette, a mother, domestic worker and activist fighting to not be separated from her loved ones; and Khalil Mahmoud, an activist and student targeted for exercising his right to free speech
