Low provider wages and funding are forcing childcare centers to shut down. Parents in rural Maine are forced to leave their jobs. Yet billionaires and politicians want to cut even more childcare funding. Join parents and providers across Maine to demand solutions for affordable, accessible childcare for all families.
We’ll start with some training: we’ll learn about the policies, how to have good lobbying conversations, how to find our way around the state house complex, and who we need to talk to, and why. Then we’ll seek out our legislators to persuade and gather intel. And finally, we’ll debrief over lunch to share what we’ve learned.
Lunch is provided. Gas cards available on request.
